Paris reorganizes its organization chart, with a duo to replace Jean-Claude Blanc

In Paris, one plus one gives one. PSG announced on Friday that a duo of club executives would replace the very precious Jean-Claude Blanc, who left for OGC Nice where he will be executive director of the owner Ineos Sports from February. General Secretary Victoriano Melero and Chief Revenue Officer Marc Armstrong “take over the functions previously carried out by the Deputy Deputy General Manager”, explained PSG in a press release.

Specifically, Melero will “oversee all support, financial and operational divisions” of the club, and Armstrong “will lead strategy across all areas of revenue generation”.

President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi also announced three new changes in the organization chart. Fabien Allègre, already director of the brand, also becomes deputy director of the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation. PSG has also recruited two new communications executives. Michelle Gilbert, previously director of communication for France and Southern Europe at Meta, has been appointed head of institutional communication, and Pascal Ferré, former editor-in-chief of France Soccerbecomes the team’s new media director.

More appointments to come

“Further external and internal appointments will be announced in due course,” the club added. “Last summer, Paris Saint-Germain began the second phase of growth and development of its project, with the appointment of a new sports management team. [l’entraîneur Christophe Galtier et le conseiller football Luis Campos] and the extension of top players” (like Kylian Mbappé and Neymar), explained Al-Khelaïfi in the press release.

The objective is to continue “the transformation of Paris Saint-Germain under the leadership of QSI to become one of the largest football, sports and lifestyle franchises in the world”. And, why not, to win the Champions League one of these days.
