According to sources familiar with the matter, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (OCOG) are to announce this Thursday afternoon that due to unresolved technical constraints (lighting, air conditioning, ceiling height – 9 meters -, TV production), the site planned for the preliminary phase of basketball during the next Olympics (the final phase is scheduled at the AccorArena), hall 6 of the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles, will be abandoned according to a source familiar with the matter. On the other hand, the weightlifting competition will take place there without difficulty.
