Parents denounce “exploited information” to “dirty” them

Emile’s parents come out of the silence. Almost two months after the disappearance of their two-year-old son in Haut-Vernet, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Marie and Colomban chose the columns of Christian family to respond to the media and, by the way, put a few dots on the “i”. In this interview published on Tuesday, the couple returns to the investigation, certain information disseminated in the media concerning them and especially their Christian faith which helps them to “go through this ordeal”.

News articles highlighted the couple’s political preferences and religious affiliations. Described as very religious and on the far right, Marie and Colomban want to rectify certain speeches and deliver their version: “We are campaigning at the Charlier Center and at the Agrif [Alliance générale contre le racisme et pour le respect de l’identité française et chrétienne], and we are proud of it. We have absolutely nothing to hide”, declares the father of a family in his twenties to Christian family.

“Faced with the tragedy, we remained united with our families and friends”

According to Free lunch, the father would have gone through Christian Solidarity, a controversial far-right politico-religious movement. “We also widely commented on our membership of a movement where we did indeed make a brief passage, before leaving it because it did not correspond to our Catholic convictions, specifies Marie in turn. Without ever having committed anything reprehensible there – as some like to make believe. “But what is incredible is that all of this was a matter of our private life, when only the disappearance of Émile counted. This information has been revealed and exploited to smear us,” she laments.

The latter also feels that their faith has been “ridiculed”. Despite “certain malicious testimonies in the press”, the mother of the family affirms that “in the face of the tragedy, we remained united with our families and friends”.
