Dramatic scenes erupted at Munich Central Station on Tuesday: a couple got off a train to make a quick phone call. Shortly thereafter, without her, but with her one-year-old daughter, he sets in motion.
It’s every parent’s nightmare: a Ukrainian couple was on their way to Prague by train on Tuesday. She gets off the train at Munich Central Station to make a quick phone call. This emerges from a press release from the federal police.
The couple reported to the Munich federal police at around 2:50 p.m. at the main train station. The federal police then notified a train attendant from the state railway to check on the one-year-old girl in her pram. Likewise, an officer from the Munich Police Headquarters, who was also traveling on the train, took care of the child and the family’s luggage. Since the next stop of the train was scheduled for 3:08 p.m. in Freising, the officials sent a patrol to receive the child on site.
Intercepted at the next stop: parents and child reunited in Munich
At the Freising train station, the federal police officers took the one-year-old and the family’s luggage and drove it back to Munich – where the child could be handed over to the relieved mother. Reunited, mother, father and daughter continued their journey to Prague in the late afternoon. The parents will probably tell their daughter more often later on about all the excitement, the ride in the police car and the adventurous train journey.
