While trying to stop his van from rolling away, a parcel delivery man in Lower Bavaria was trapped under the vehicle and seriously injured. As the police announced on Wednesday, the 39-year-old had gotten out of the van in Bodenmais (Regen district) on Tuesday to deliver packages when the vehicle rolled away on the sloping road.
The man was able to get into the van with one leg, but the vehicle then tipped over on its side and trapped the man. Firefighters rescued the 39-year-old. He was seriously injured and taken to hospital by helicopter.
According to a police spokesman, the exact cause of the accident was initially unclear on Wednesday. However, the investigators suspected that the man had forgotten to put the handbrake on in the van.
