Four years ago, Pauline Déroulède was the victim of a road accident. A 92-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into it. The young woman then had her left leg cut off. Since this accident, she has decided to fight two battles in parallel: that of winning a medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and that of passing a law on driving ability tests for all drivers.
A fight that resonates even more since the tragic accident of comedian Pierre Palmade, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics but also medication. “We realize that beyond age, which is a factor that affects driving ability, there are also others such as degenerative diseases, loss of sight, loss of hearing and also drugs that are incompatible with driving,” says the athlete.
