Papa Gerhard had a severe stroke

For the time being there will be no new episodes of “Pocher and Papa Traveling”. Oliver Pocher has now made the sad reason for this public.

In the summer of 2020, RTL showed “Pocher and Papa Traveling” for the first time. In the show, a camera team accompanied comedian Oliver Pocher and his father Gerhard, who usually works as an accountant near Hanover, on trips around the world. The two visited Thailand, the US and the UK to learn about bizarre customs, strange food and foreign customs. At the end of May, viewers were able to accompany the duo on their trip through Portugal and Spain.

But that will have been the last TV adventure for father and son for the time being. “Until further notice, there will be no further episodes of ‘Papa and Pocher on Travel’,” announced Oliver Pocher on Instagram on Tuesday evening – and revealed the sad reason for this. For his father’s 74th birthday, the entertainer shared several photos together and wrote: “Today my father is a year older. What a year is behind him. A serious stroke has changed a lot in the last few weeks.”

Due to the fast and competent help in the hospital and in the rehabilitation facility, Gerhard Pocher was “more than lucky again and on his birthday he was sitting at his desk again independently and without help and doing his beloved financial accounting,” continues the 45-year-old.

“Fate Strikes Faster Than We Would Like”

Continuing the shooting of the joint RTL documentary is out of the question for the time being, “because the strain on the journey is simply too great and it would be too exhausting for my father”. He is very happy and grateful to have experienced these trips together, “because nobody can take the time and memories from us anymore,” says Oliver Pocher.

The comedian is unusually emotional in the post. He advises his followers: “Enjoy the time with your family and your parents. You will never come back and fate sometimes strikes faster than we would all like.” Finally, the TV star addresses his father, wishes him a happy birthday and writes: “I love you! May there be a few happy years to come!”
