And Hertha? Clearly a gray mouse, but you live in a cosmopolitan city where many people would like to spend a few years and in the case of Kovac it would also be a return to your old home.
I think there are enough coaches who would be happy if they had these options.
On the subject: I can just 0.0 understand what you were thinking in Wolfsburg when you got an air pump like Kohfeldt. You could actually have seen from his work in Bremen that the guy has lost nothing in the 1st Bundesliga. Tactically, it’s not enough with him in the front and back, you can’t make up for that with the fact that you’re a casual buddy.
At Bremen you could probably excuse one or the other with the squad (although you didn’t have to end up in 17th place), but at Wolfsburg this argument no longer works. Glasner almost made it into international business with the same management team. Apart from Brekalo, no player left who played a bigger role and even he was only partially a regular player.
On the other hand, with Waldschmidt, L. Nmecha, Lukebakio and Bornauw 4 potential regular players came and with F. Nmecha, Vranckx and van de Wen 3 exciting talents. There just has to be more to it than a relegation battle.
Normally you would still have to fire Kohfeldt today, but I can imagine that you would give him 1-2 more games, if only because Schmadtke would then be responsible for the second wrong choice in the coaching position.
