A new research model shows that children and mothers die in poorer countries because there is a lack of tax revenue. The authors say: tax havens approve of the deadly consequences of their actions.

Governments could save the lives of around 680,000 children and mothers within ten years – if there were no more tax havens. This is the result of a research team led by the Scottish pediatrician Bernadette O’Hare and the English economist Stephen Hall. The calculations are based on a scientific model that can determine for the first time for every country on earth how deadly tax evasion is.
