Pamplona: Controversial bull hunt begins – animal rights activists protest (video)

See the video: Pamplona’s bull hunt takes place again after the Corona break amid protests.

You’re walking again. On Thursday, the northern Spanish city of Pamplona witnessed the ritual of bull-hunting taking place once again in the streets of the city centre. The event in honor of the city saint San Fermín was suspended for two years due to the corona pandemic. The sad result on Thursday: Five injured, according to the organizers. And not by horn blasts, but by falls. The folk festival had already begun on Wednesday with the traditional starting gun and a subsequent celebration. And in the coming days more bull races will follow. Several bulls, weighing around 600 kilograms, race through the streets of the old town to the arena. For many Spaniards, the ritual is firmly part of the tradition. For animal rights activists, on the other hand, it is a despicable event that should be abolished immediately.
