“The Naked Gun” is getting a new edition. Pamela Anderson, who plays the lead role alongside another Hollywood star, is also there.

Pamela Anderson (56) returns to the big screen for a new film of “The Naked Gun”. This is what “The Hollywood Reporter” reports. She plays one of the main roles alongside Liam Neeson (71). Filmmaker Akiva Schaffer (46) is set to direct the as-yet-untitled remake for Paramount.

According to the report, plot details are being kept strictly under wraps. Liam Neeson will apparently play Frank Drebin, the bumbling police officer portrayed in the original by Leslie Nielsen (1926-2010). Pamela Anderson is said to be seen as his lover, in a similar “sexy and silly” role to that played by Priscilla Presley (78) in “The Naked Gun” 1988. The film by Jerry Zucker (74) was based on the TV series “The Naked Gun”. This was followed by the films “The Naked Cannon 2 1/2” (1991) and “The Naked Cannon 33 1/3” (1994). According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, Paramount wants to bring the remake into cinemas in July 2025.

Pamela Anderson is making a comeback to the cinema

The remake marks the cinematic comeback for Pamela Anderson. The former “Playboy” model became internationally known through the television series “Baywatch”. Anderson starred in it from 1992 to 1997. The 56-year-old actress made her debut on the big screen as the leading actress in “Barb Wire”, but the film flopped in 1996. Anderson then played the leading role in the series “VIP – The Bodyguards” and appeared in films such as “Scary Movie 3” and appeared in several reality shows.

There were headlines about the “Baywatch” star a few months ago. The series “Pam & Tommy” (2022) about her famous sex tape gave Pamela Anderson “nightmares,” as she explained in the documentary “Pamela: A Love Story” (2023), which appeared on Netflix. “Pam & Tommy” traced the scandal surrounding a video that was stolen from the home of Pamela Anderson and her ex-husband Tommy Lee (61) in 1995. The thieves sold the juicy recordings to a website. The clips made the rounds on the then-new Internet.
