Palestinian activist from Munich about the Middle East war and Germany – Munich

Fuad Hamdan is committed to the country of his origins and the people there. He calls Israel a “terrorist state” and has far less harsh words for the Hamas attack on October 7th. Is that anti-Semitic? Do we have to endure such opinions?

First, Fuad Hamdan draws attention to the two colorful, abstract pictures above his sofa. About an artist from Gaza, he says. On a shelf you notice three books, three of the same volume, “Palestine and the Palestinians.” Hamdan says he finds the work excellently differentiated and he likes to give it as a gift, hence the stock. And then there is this photo above the television, it takes you back to the history of Palestine and Fuad Hamdan. You have to get close to see the scattered houses, which barely stand out from the barren landscape. The village was called Sar’a, it was near Jerusalem, and that’s where his family comes from, says Hamdan. The village no longer exists; a kibbutz has long been there.
