Ozempic weight loss injection in a self-experiment: burp funny forever?

Hamburg journalist Stephan Bartels has been struggling with his weight for 30 years and has been diabetic for eleven years. In October he began injecting himself with the active ingredient semaglutide. Here he tells us how much weight he has lost and how the drug helps him conquer his biggest fear.

I’ve been burping really funny lately. Really, it’s such a deep, long-standing rumble that slowly rises within me and releases itself aromatically in such an infernal way that I have to laugh out loud every time. I now also have a feeling of pressure in my lower abdomen, not always, but more and more often, you get used to it. I don’t like the newly acquired heartburn, and speaking of burning: my intestines also feel strangely hot. As if something in there was working at full speed.
