“Outlander” enters the seventh round. The new season of the hit series will start on June 22 on Amazon Prime Video in Germany. That’s what viewers can expect from the sequel.

Based on Diana Gabaldon’s novels of the same name, Outlander is a hit and hugely popular Highland saga. Just like the nine volumes, which have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and all landed on the New York Times bestseller list, the series has a huge fan base. And she can soon look forward to the continuation of the film adaptation.

Production team announce seasons 7 and 8

Since the premiere of the first season in August 2014, the series has received numerous awards, including the Critic’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards. So it’s no wonder that the creators of the series can’t get enough of the book adaptation.

After six successful seasons, the production team recently announced seasons 7 and 8 of “Outlander” on Instagram. And the start of the sequel is just around the corner: on June 16, 2023, the first episodes are to be broadcast on the US broadcaster Starz. As the makers announced, season 7 will be divided into two parts, each with eight episodes. The last eight episodes will follow in 2024. The sequel will be available in Germany on June 22, probably for a fee on Amazon Prime Video.

It wasn’t until about a year later that the seasons were available to stream for free on Netflix. Season 6, which came out last summer, will soon be available on the streaming platform, and season 7 is expected to follow in summer 2024. With a total of 16 episodes, the seventh season has eight more episodes than season 6. Unlike the book series However, the announced season 8 will be the last of the hit series.

That’s what “Outlander” is about

The Season 7 trailer was recently released by Starz and, as with previous seasons, promises plenty of excitement, adventure, romance and emotion. “Outlander” tells the story of the English nurse Claire, who travels back in time to 1743 after the Second World War through the magical powers of a stone circle. Here she gets caught up in the Jacobite Rising, the fight between the Scottish freedom fighters and England. She falls in love with young Jamie Fraser, who is part of the MacKenzie clan, and from then on works as a healer at his castle.

Claire gets caught between the fronts faster than she can see. Soon Claire is unsure if she even wants to return to the 20th century, where her husband Frank is desperately looking for her. The seventh volume of the book series entitled “Echo der Hoffnung” reveals how things could continue after the cliffhanger end in season 6. In this, Claire and Jamie get caught up in the middle of the American Revolution, but can save themselves shortly thereafter back to Scotland. A little later, Claire has to travel back to the USA due to a medical emergency. There she is arrested as a spy.

struggle for life and death

Season 7 will be more adventurous and emotional than any previous season, announced screenwriter Matthew B. Roberts. And so does the trailer: it starts with a funeral, Claire is about to be hanged on the false murder charges, and Jamie sets sail to travel back to the United States to rescue Claire.

“Season seven follows the harrowing events of season six as Jamie and Ian attempt to rescue Claire before she is wrongly sentenced to death for the murder of Malva Christie,” reads the official Starz description. However, the beginning of the American Revolution complicates their mission, Jamie, Claire and their family are caught in the unrest of a rising nation.

It’s “definitely intimate” between Jamie and Claire

In addition to action and adventure, Season 7 also doesn’t miss out on love and romance – it’s not for nothing that “Outlander” is often described as the most romantic adventure series ever. The teaser promises hot sex scenes and intimate moments between Claire and Jamie. In the first half of the season it will be “definitely intimate” between the two, revealed co-producer Maril Davis of “Glamour”. But things will also get hot between other characters. Davis promises that William, Rachel and Ian will develop a love triangle that will have very intimate, erotic moments.

In addition to the veteran cast – including Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, Caitríona Balfe as Claire Randall Fraser, Sophie Skelton as Brianna Randall Fraser and Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield – a past Outlander character will also return to the screens. The late Dougal MacKenzie, played by Graham McTavish, is back. “One of the most beautiful things about our epic story is the time travel, which allows us to revisit favorite characters in different times and places, and we’re happy to welcome so many familiar faces back into Season 7,” the production team commented on the twist . So there’s a lot “Outlander” fans can look forward to.

The first part of the seventh season “Outlander” is available from June 22nd on Amazon Prime Video.
