Ottobrunn – Affordable housing for families – District of Munich

It seems to be just a drop in the ocean on the completely overheated housing market in the district of Munich, but the completion of the municipal housing complex on Hochackerstrasse is an absolute win for Ottobrunn. On Thursday, Karl Scheinhardt, Managing Director of the Munich-Land construction company (BGML), which was responsible for the construction, symbolically handed over the key to the residential building to Mayor Thomas Loderer (CSU). Families with children move into the modern and also aesthetically pleasing complex with the facade that will soon be half green; Three- and four-room apartments were planned there.

In order to be able to afford this, the municipality has capped the net cold rent at 11.25 euros. On average, the cold rent in the district of Munich is more than 16 euros per square meter. For Ottobrunn, the completion of the building on Hochackerstrasse is of particular importance, since the municipality hardly has any land of its own to act as a builder and to be able to provide affordable living space. According to Loderer, the originally estimated construction costs of around 3.7 million euros were significantly undercut.
