Ottenhofen: From the war in Ukraine to the Bavarian village – Erding

Of

Kathrin Werner, Ottenhofen

Yuri comes with freshly picked daisies. He smiles shyly, stretches out his small hand and hands it to Sepp. “Oh, thank you, my boy,” he says. It’s Josef Lippacher’s birthday today, he turned 77, has three grandchildren, but Juri isn’t one of them, although he already calls him “my boy” and Juri sometimes calls him “grandpa”. Lippacher has only known Juri for a day. On Thursday the two and a half year old moved in with his mother and big brother after a long journey with him and his wife Ursel in Ottenhofen. They escaped from Ukraine.
