Oscars 2024: Was the ceremony too apolitical this year? – Culture

It is the most important event for film fans around the world: the Oscars. For Hollywood, the award ceremony is also traditionally a review of the past year. A political year that was marked by the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. But the Oscars themselves were a rather apolitical event. That’s what Susan Vahabzadeh says, who watched the Oscars that night for SZ. She talks about the non-political Oscars in this episode of “To the Point.”

Further news: Shift to the right in the election in Portugal, criticism of Pope Francis’ statement on the Ukraine war.
