The Oscars will be presented in Los Angeles for the 96th time

The Academy Awards will be presented for the 96th time on March 10th. You can read all the information about the Oscars, who is nominated and which films are considered favorites here.
The award ceremony will take place on the night of March 11, 2024 Oscars are taking place for the 96th time. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards are considered the most important film awards in the world. After an outstanding film year in 2023 with blockbusters such as Christopher Nolan’s film biography “Oppenheimer”, Greta Gerwig’s summer hit “Barbie” and “Poor Things” with Emma Stone in the lead role, this year’s awards ceremony is eagerly awaited.
Where are the Oscars presented and who hosts the event?
As in previous years, the Academy Awards ceremony will take place in Dolby Theater in Los Angeles instead of. As in the previous year, the moderator will be Jimmy Kimmel lead through the evening. Kimmel previously hosted the show in 2017, 2018 and 2023.
Who presents the Oscars?
All the laudators who will award the prizes this year have now been announced. Typically, the acting categories are awarded by the previous year’s winners. This year it happens Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis. Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicolas Cage, Al Pacino, Zendaya, Mahershala Ali, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o and Sam Rockwell will also present various Oscars. Other names on the list include: Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton, Regina King, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate McKinnon, Rita Moreno, John Mulaney, Catherine O’Hara, Octavia Spencer and Ramy Youssef.
The recently announced remaining laudators also include: Emily Blunt, America Ferrera, and Ryan Gosling, each of which is themselves nominated for an Oscar. Cynthia Erivo, Sally Field, Ariana Grande, Ben Kingsley, Melissa McCarthy, Issa Rae, Tim Robbins, Steven Spielberg, Mary Steenburgen, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlize Theron, Christoph Waltz and Forest Whitaker are also part of the awards ceremony.
Which acts will perform at the Oscars 2024?
The five nominated artists in the “Best Song” category will also provide musical entertainment at the Academy Awards. That concerns Ryan Gosling with “I’m Just Ken” from “Barbie”, Jon Batiste with “It Never Went Away” (“American Symphony”), Becky G. with “The Fire Inside” (“Flamin’ Hot”), Scott George and the Osage Singers with “Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People)” from “Killers of the Flower Moon” and last but not least Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell with “What Was I Made For?” from “Barbie”.
In which categories are the Academy Awards presented?
The coveted film prize is awarded in a total of 23 categories, with 120 nominations in the running this year. One of the most important Oscars is the award for best film, the best leading actress and the best leading actor, the best supporting actress and the best supporting actor and the award for the best director.

Who are the favorites?
With 13 nominations, Christopher Nolan’s autobiography “Oppenheimer” about the eponymous “father of the atomic bomb” is the absolute favorite of this year’s awards ceremony. Martin Scorsese’s “Poor Things” and “Killers of the Flower Moon” are also being treated as potential wins. They follow Nolan’s blockbuster with eleven and ten nominations.
Germany is also particularly excited about “The Teacher’s Room”. The film is nominated in the “Best International Film” category. Great hope is placed not least on Sandra Hülser, who could win the Oscar for best actress for “Anatomy of a Case”.

You can also watch the Oscars ceremony live in this country. On the night of March 10th to 11th, the awards ceremony including preliminary reporting will take place on free TV on ProSieben and at the same time in the stream on Joyn from 11:30 p.m.
