Two days after the 2022 Oscars ceremony, marked by Will Smith’s slap in the face of comedian Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith spoke out by posting a cryptic message on Instagram.
“It’s the season of healing, and I’m in it,” she soberly posted, while she had until then remained silent on the events since condemned by the Academy.
The publication follows the apologies from the actor to Chris Rock and the viewers for his bloodshed in the middle of the Oscar ceremony.
It’s a Chris Rock joke about the shaved head of Jada Pinkett Smith who had set fire to the powder this Sunday. A joke not in the best taste when we know that the actress had publicly confided in 2021 to suffer from alopecia (significant hair loss), and to have made the (painful) decision to shave her head.
So when the comedian ventured in front of all-Hollywood and millions of viewers around the world to compare the actress’ hair, cut close to the shaved head of Demi Moore in the film “On Equal Arms” by Ridley Scott (1997), the pill did not go well. If Jada was content to pout, the blood of Will Smith has only made one turn.
He immediately took the stage and violently slapped Chris Rock. “Will Smith just ripped my head off” tried to play down the actor. “Leave my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!” The 53-year-old actor then launched to him, once back in his chair, all under the dumbfounded gaze of the audience who was beginning to understand that It wasn’t a sketch.

Their youngest, Willow Smith, also showed her support for her father by posting in an Instagram story a shot all smiles with him holding his best actor statuette.
In an interview with a Philadelphia radio show on Tuesday morning, the mother of Will SmithCarolyn Bright, 85, meanwhile assured that she had never seen her famous son behave this way.
“He’s a very social person. It’s the first time I’ve seen him lose his temper like that. First time in his life … I’ve never seen him do that, ”she repeated on the airwaves of the local radio station of the ABC network. Carolyn Bright said she told Will Smith about the incident the next day and advised him to go on vacation to rest.
