The property is to be called “Orbital Reef” and is to be built in cooperation with the aerospace company Boeing and the defense company Sierra Nevada Corporation. According to a communication from Blue Origin, the space station is due to be launched in the second half of this decade. According to this, Orbital Reef is to become a mixed-use industrial park that will provide the infrastructure for expanding economic activities and opening up new markets in space. The declaration states: “Experienced space agencies, high-tech consortia, sovereign nations, media and travel companies, entrepreneurs and inventors all have a place in Orbital Reef. The private space station is to fly at an altitude of 500 kilometers.
