Orange vigilance for thunderstorms extended to 37 departments, from the South-West to a large North-West quarter

The stormy episode is not quite over yet. Météo France places, Thursday, June 23, 37 departments of the Hexagon in orange vigilance for risks of thunderstorms (Ain, Allier, Ardèche, Ardennes, Aube, Aveyron, Cantal, Cher, Corrèze, Côte-d’Or, Creuse, Dordogne, Doubs, Drôme, Isère, Jura, Loire, Haute-Loire, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe- et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Nièvre, Puy-de-Dôme, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Rhône, Haute-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Tarn, Vosges, Yonne, Territory of Belfort, Haute-Vienne). Orange vigilance is, on the other hand, lifted for the Lot.

According his bulletinthe forecaster estimates that this vigilance will begin at midday and will last until the night of Thursday to Friday. “Violent thunderstorms have started in the South-West, they are reaching regions ranging from the Massif-Central, the Lyon region and the Grand-Est. Tomorrow morning, a new episode will begin in Ardèche; it is reaching Isère and Savoie in daytime”, details Météo-France. “Cumulative rains of 40 to 60 mm in less than 40 minutes have been observed. Hail is sometimes present but of small size. 103 km / h in gusts were measured in Lyon”, adds the forecaster.
