Opera integrates with Polygon to open a DApp ecosystem to 80 million users.

On Wednesday, Opera, an internet browser that supports Web 3.0 applications and a built-in crypto wallet, announced its upcoming integration with Polygon (MATIC). The integration is scheduled to roll out in the first quarter of 2022. It will open up the Polygon ecosystem to over 80 million Opera users on Android mobile first, and then to the rest of the devices and platforms.

Polygon is a Layer 2 Ethereum (ETH) scalable solution designed for lower gas fees and faster transaction times.

With this integration, Opera users will have access to decentralized applications or DApps on Polygon such as Sushiswap, Curve and Aave, as well as blockchain games and NFT token platforms such as Decentraland, OpenSea and TheSandbox.

Opera Mobile executive vice president Jorgen Arnese said the new integration would help It “eliminates the biggest challenges facing crypto enthusiasts”: high fees and slow transaction speeds.

Arjun Kalsy, VP of Growth at Polygon added: “With this integration Hundreds of millions of monthly active users of Opera will experience Polygon’s DApp ecosystem and best-in-class Web 3.0 technologies.”
