Opening sequence sets the tone for tomorrow’s launch

Gran Turismo 7 is about to be released. To get you in the mood, you can take a look at the usual extensive intro.

Gran Turismo 7 is PlayStation Studios’ first major PS5 racing game. The features of the series traditionally include the opening video, which you can watch below these lines today. It is almost eight minutes long and extensively celebrates automotive culture, starting with the infancy of motorized mobility.

In the further course of the intro of “Gran Turismo 7” some classic racing scenes follow, before the racing game itself flexes its muscles and introduces cars and racetracks. The video ultimately spans 150 years of history and features personalities such as Carl Benz, who created the first automobiles, and also the brand new Porsche Taycan.

“Gran Turismo 7” will be released tomorrow, March 4, 2022 for PS5 and PS4 (Pro). Previous comparison videos made it clear that while the title has the edge on the new-gen console, owners of the last-gen hardware are also getting a solid racing game that can impress visually.

GT7 reviews published

The reviews of Polyphony Werk also started this week. “Gran Turismo 7 delivers where it should be for a racing sim: on the track!”, says Olaf in the PLAY3.DE test. In addition, the Evaluations of the international press compiled. In the case of the PS5 version, they provided a meta score of 88 based on more than 80 tests.

Only the English-language publication VGC went below the 70 rating with a score of 60, albeit with strange reasons. The menus and presentations were criticized, with the addition: “The handling in Gran Turismo 7 is excellent. It’s incredibly responsive and strikes the perfect balance between a hardcore simulation and a more casual game.”
