More than 600,000 users for ChatGPT enterprise version
The corporate version of ChatGPT is booming: According to OpenAI manager Brad Lightcap, more than 600,000 companies are now using the AI chatbot – a quadrupling since January.
ChatGPT sparked the hype about artificial intelligence just over a year ago. Such AI chatbots are trained with enormous amounts of information and can formulate texts at the linguistic level of a human, write software codes and summarize information.
The principle behind this is that they estimate, word by word, how a sentence should continue. One disadvantage: The software sometimes gives completely wrong answers, even if it was only based on correct information. Developers are working on setting reliable guardrails for the programs to prevent something like this from happening.
The enterprise version of ChatGPT is a cornerstone of OpenAI’s business model. At the same time, there are also several competitors who also want to house their AI assistants in companies. OpenAI signed a billion-dollar pact with Microsoft – and the software giant uses the start-up’s technology in many of its products.
OpenAI currently has around 1,200 employees, said Lightcap. The start-up has plans to open a branch in Japan.
