The Chinese hardware manufacturer One Netbook will offer a new gaming handheld with Intel’s current Core Ultra CPUs. The company has details about this on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo announced.
In general, the OnexPlayer X1 differs from other gaming handhelds because it is presented as a tablet with a stand and without built-in controller elements. Instead, a separate wireless controller is connected.
The tablet uses an 11-inch 120Hz screen with a 2.5K resolution – presumably 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. The system is equipped with a Core Ultra 7 155H with 16 cores and a maximum clock speed of 4.8 GHz. The CPU also uses a 1.4 GHz NPU. This should take over AI tasks and, for example, calculate requests with Microsoft’s Copilot.
New graphics unit is faster
The Ultra CPU also comes with a new integrated Arc GPU. In practice, this should be faster than previous integrated Xe graphics units from Intel. One Netbook speaks of twice the performance per watt.
The manufacturer shows the performance in a short video. The new handheld achieves over 60 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 in 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and medium graphic details. The GPU is therefore above the AMD Radeon graphics unit of other handhelds such as the ROG Ally or the Lenovo Legion Go.
So far there are no further technical details regarding other components such as SSD and RAM. In addition, One Netbook has not yet named a price for the new handheld. As one of the first gaming tablets with a Core Ultra 7 CPU, it shouldn’t necessarily be cheap. Those interested can sign up for the newsletter on Indiegogo.
