One of the members of the Erignac commando officially on semi-freedom

Pierre Alessandri, one of the members of the commando who participated in the assassination of the prefect Claude Erignac in Ajaccio in 1998, was released from Borgo prison (Haute-Corse) on Tuesday morning, officially starting his semi-freedom regime, learned the ‘AFP from a source familiar with the matter. “His sentence adjustment measure with a semi-freedom regime began yesterday but he was released for the first time on Tuesday morning,” said this source.

This measure will allow him to work during the day outside the Borgo prison, where he had been transferred on April 11 from the central house of Poissy in the Paris region. He was hired by a company specializing in pruning, clearing and landscaping based in Ponte-Novu (Haute-Corse).

Sentenced to life imprisonment

At the end of the day, he will have to return to his Corsican prison to spend the night there. Likewise, Pierre Alessandri will continue to spend his weekends there, except for one weekend per month for which he has leave.

Pierre Alessandri was arrested in 1999, along with Alain Ferrandi. Sentenced in 2003 to life imprisonment, they had finished serving the eighteen years of their security period in 2017 and had therefore been released from that date.
