Without social media, many people would have felt quite lonely in times of lockdown and social distancing. During the Corona pandemic, however, they have apparently become so important for some that self-determined and controlled use is no longer possible. Almost a quarter of children and young people in Germany spend too much time on social media. This is shown by a joint study by the health insurance company DAK-Gesundheit and the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE).
