Ever since the Cambridge Analytica scandal, it has been known that the data we leave on social media is worth its weight in gold to election manipulators. The journalist Peter Kreysler investigated the question of how data companies and PR agencies could influence the federal election. Undercover, he pretended to be an election campaign advisor for “The Party” and received dubious offers in London’s posh restaurants. Filmed with a hidden camera and in collaboration with co-author Gesine Enwaldt, this resulted in a remarkable ARD documentary and a radio feature.
