One confesses, the other doesn’t… They go to prison with different sentences for transporting cannabis

They were in the same scheme but did not receive the same sentence, one having confessed and the other not. Two Albanians, arrested at a toll near Nancy in September, appeared in court in Nancy on Thursday for transporting 67 kg of cannabis, reports The Republican East. One, aged 25, was driving a scout car and the other, aged 43, was behind the wheel of the vehicle in which the drugs were hidden.

The latter, a homeless person living in Metz and under an obligation to leave French territory, had forced customs agents to deploy “stop sticks”, portcullises bristling with spikes, before attempting to escape on foot. The other defendant, who opened the road, completely denied the accusations despite a wealth of clues and evidence against him. The latter finally received three years while his partner, who confessed, received two and a half years.
