If this visual was indeed produced by supporters of Emmanuel Macron, it is not, however, an official communication. It’s the Twitter account “WithEnMarche” who created and published it on February 15. That day, Vladimir Putin announced the withdrawal of part of the Russian troops to the Ukrainian border. A week earlier, the French president had gone to Moscow to try to defuse the crisis around Ukraine.
In the profile description, it is clearly stated that AvecEnMarche is an “unofficial” account supporting the re-election of Emmanuel Macron. It is followed by 3,261 subscribers, against nearly 300,000 for the official presidential party account. Contacted, its administrators assure us that this visual is “a militant initiative for this unofficial account”.
For its part, La République en Marche confirms that this account “is not official” and that the visual has “not been validated by the campaign teams at all”. And adds that he is “neither closely nor remotely linked” to this publication which, “in the political sense, is worthless”. The presidential party sees in the attacks of the right “a stroke of the sword in the water, which hits the side”.
