Will the Queen appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for her Jubilee? There are now doubts about that.

Queen Elizabeth II (96) has big plans for her platinum throne jubilee this year. The culmination of the celebrations are the days from June 2nd to 5th. “Trooping the Colour”, the traditional military parade for the Queen’s birthday, is to take place on June 2nd. As the palace announced in January, 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians are to pay homage to the monarch. The parade traditionally concludes with a Royal Air Force air show, which is followed by the Queen and members of the Royal Family from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

But this project now seems to be on the brink: An insider is said to have revealed the “Daily Mail”.that the Queen’s appearance on the balcony is “by no means guaranteed”. The reason is said to be the limited mobility of the 96-year-old. We are now busy developing a plan B. “It could still happen, but there is no guarantee that we will see the Queen on the balcony during the anniversary,” the Daily Mail quoted the unspecified source as saying.

Harry and Meghan on the balcony?

In April, the “Daily Mail” reportedthat even Prince Harry (37) and Duchess Meghan (40) could appear on the balcony with the royal family. The two stepped down as senior members of the royal family in early 2020 and are no longer allowed to attend official royal events. However, the Queen is said to have invited her grandson and his wife to stand on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the rest of the royal family on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the throne.
