A year after Prince Philip’s death, the palace has published an elegy for Queen Elizabeth II’s late husband.

Prince Philip (1921-2021) died a year ago at the age of 99. On the day of his death, the British royals remember Queen Elizabeth II’s longtime husband (95) with emotional lines and pictures. With “The Patriarchs – An Elegy” (Eng. “The Patriarchs – An Elegy”), the royals remember the deceased. In addition to the moving lines, the palace also published a video clip showing numerous moments from Philips’ life. Many of the recordings are reminiscent of happy family times – the Queen and Philip can be seen at their wedding, with their children and great-grandchildren, among other things.

Prince Charles (73) and his wife, Duchess Camilla (74), published on their Instagram account also three pictures. One of the recordings shows the two laughing next to Charles’ father and mother. The couple today remember the “Duke of Edinburgh, a year after his passing”.

According to British media reports, the Queen will spend the anniversary of her husband’s death in private. A memorial service for Prince Philip had already taken place at the end of March, which was also attended by the Queen, who had repeatedly canceled public appearances at short notice in recent months.
