Even the royals are not idle on Holocaust Remembrance Day. Charles and Camilla lit candles for the victims on Friday.
King Charles III (74) and his wife Camilla (75) met with two survivors of the Nazi genocide at Buckingham Palace on Friday (January 27) to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day and heard their stories. “In memory of the victims” they then lit two candles there, like them write on her official Instagram account and show in a video.
In the post, Charles also delivered a touching and important message: “As we learn from the horrors of the Holocaust and the genocides that followed, we can all recommit ourselves to the vital principles of freedom of conscience, generosity of spirit, and caring for others who are are the surest defense of hope.”
Color coordinated outfits
At the appointment, the king and his wife appeared in color-coordinated outfits: Charles threw himself into a dark blue suit with a light handkerchief and also a blue tie. Camilla opted for a dark blue, calf-length dress with long sleeves and embellishments at the neckline.
Every year on International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27), the royals seek to raise awareness, publish important messages or give speeches at events.
