Olympia 2022: Kamila Valiewa is allowed to start in singles – sport

Russian figure skater Kamila Valiyeva, who is suspected of doping, is allowed to take part in the individual competition at the Winter Games in Beijing from Tuesday. The ad hoc chamber of the sports arbitration court Cas rejected the objection of the IOC, WADA and the world ice skating association ISU against the lifting of the suspension of the 15-year-old by the Russian anti-doping agency Rusada. The Cas announced this on Monday.

Valiyeva tested positive for the banned substance trimetazidine on December 25 at the Russian championships. However, the result was only available after the victory in the Olympic team competition on February 8th. Rusada lifted the mandatory suspension after an appeal – the International Olympic Committee, the World Anti-Doping Agency and the ISU had acted against it.

Valiyeva’s start in the short program on Tuesday is scheduled for 21:52 local time (14:52 CET).
