A 26-year-old man died in an accident on Autobahn 8. His car came off the right side of the road for reasons that are still unclear, the police said on Saturday. His car then spun back onto the freeway and rolled over. The car came to rest across the roadway and on its roof shortly after midnight on Saturday.
The car of a 20-year-old from Munich then came across the wreck and pushed it a few meters further. The 20-year-old suffered minor injuries. Another driver was able to swerve and prevent another collision. Nevertheless, he touched the two accident cars. The 38-year-old driver was unharmed. The 26-year-old from Landshut died at the scene of the accident.
The A8 in the direction of Munich had to be closed for six hours for rescue and clean-up work. The accident was near Olching, between the Dachau – Fürstenfeldbruck junction and the Munich-Eschenried motorway triangle.
