Oktoberfest in Munich: A Oktoberfest of the century – Munich

With 7.2 million visitors, more than ever came to Theresienwiese. The city is happy about a festival “like something out of a picture book” – and the big hit among the drinks wasn’t the beer.

After Corona, the Oktoberfest is finally back. After the rainy restart last year, this time it was more beautiful than ever before. “We experienced an Oktoberfest like something out of a picture book,” said Clemens Baumgärtner (CSU), the city’s labor and economic advisor and therefore also the Oktoberfest boss, in his summary on Tuesday afternoon in the Schützenzelt. The festival was “characterized by a summery, relaxed attitude to life,” and: “All four of us are very satisfied!” All four are representatives of the city as organizer, the police, the fire department and the medical service, who traditionally take stock in the middle of the festival and on the last day.
