Oil companies: They act green, but act fossil – economy

Can you really be disappointed? What if the big energy companies, like Shell recently, don’t limit their oil and gas production as planned, but instead expand it? What if they don’t make big money with wind power, as their image films suggest, but with the very classic, extremely profitable fossil business? On these occasions, environmental organizations and also parts of politics rightly denounce the CO₂ emissions for which these corporations are responsible. However, the appeals are linked to unrealistic expectations: that Exxon, Total, BP or Shell will recognize what they are doing in this climate crisis world and initiate a change themselves – after all, green energy is the future. Their actions show that they will not change. So, no more illusions? Lucky. Then politicians can treat companies with all honesty.
