The Beatles can still do it: 54 years after their last number one hit, they have climbed the chart throne again.

It’s a real sensation: 54 years after their last number one hit Beatles climbed back to the throne of the Official German Charts, pushing the Austrian music producer RAF Camora (39) and the Berlin rapper Ski Aggu (26) to fifth place with “Liebe Grüße”.

The single “Now And Then”, released on November 2nd, is the Fab Four’s first top ranking since “Come Together” in December 1969, making Paul McCartney (81) and Co. record the largest gap between two number one hits at all. In addition, “Now And Then” recorded the highest-grossing week for an international single in over two years. The single is a demo version by John Lennon (1940-1980) from the 1970s that was prepared using artificial intelligence and has now been completed by McCartney and Ringo Starr (83).

Christmas classics are back in the charts earlier

Completing the podium are DJ Cassö (21), the British singer Reye (26) and the trap duo D-Block Europe with “Prada” (second place) as well as the Spanish singer Iñigo Quintero (21) with “Si No Estás” ( third place). Newcomer “Blonde Chaya” by Cologne rapper Amaru comes in fourth together with Gringo Bamba. According to a press release from GfK Entertainment, two Christmas classics are returning earlier than usual this year: Wham! “Last Christmas” comes in at number 64, Mariah Carey’s (54) “All I Want For Christmas Is You” at number 68.

Colorful mix of rap and folk rock in the album charts

Four newcomers can look forward to a place in the top 5 in the album charts: “Blue Hours” by the Dresden rapper 01099 (first place), the folk-rock group Versengold with their album “Lautes Denken” (second place), “Loveline EP” by rapper Bonez MC (fourth place) and “Alles Gute” by South Tyrolean singer Rudy Giovannini (fifth place). The Rolling Stones slip from second to third place with “Hackney Diamonds”.

The albums are also already feeling Christmassy: Wolfgang Petry’s (72) “Always when it snows” entered the hit list at number 13, with Gregory Porter’s (52) “Christmas Wish” (number 43) and Cher’s (77) ” “Christmas” (rank 91) adds two more Christmas albums.
