Who sold the most albums or singles by any means this week? GfK Entertainment lets numbers do the talking.

British rock band Placebo have climbed back to the top of the album charts after 13 years. “Never Let Me Go” is the first work by the duo Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal in almost ten years.

The British recently made it to the top of the charts with the album “Battle For The Sun” (2009), as GfK Entertainment announced on Friday. Rapper Alligatoah came in second with “Rotz & Wasser”. The US singer Machine Gun Kelly secures third place with “Mainstream Sellout”. A week after the death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, the cult band’s “Greatest Hits” record lands again in the top 100 at number 79.

Well-known names are again ahead in the single charts this week. Unchanged, Miksu, Macloud and t-low secure the throne with “Longing”. Behind them is the indie band Glass Animals with “Heat Waves” and the pop musician Gayle with “abcdefu”.
