Every year again: Christmas is already being celebrated big in the music charts. This applies to both the singles and the albums.

Mariah Carey is back at number one in the German charts with “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. It is the fifth year in a row that she has achieved this and the 14th number one week overall for the Christmas pop hit.

The previous week’s number one “Breathless through the Night” by Helene Fischer & Shirin David has now fallen from first to 31st place. In the single charts this week, holiday titles make up 54 of all 100 positions and populate the entire top 15, as GfK Entertainment, investigator of the Official German Charts, announced on Friday.

Following Carey are Wham! (“Last Christmas”), Shakin’ Stevens (“Merry Christmas Everyone”), Chris Rea (“Driving Home For Christmas”) and Dean Martin (“Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”). At number nine, for example, is “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee. From Germany, for example, Rolf Zuckowski and his friends (“In der Weihnachtsbäckerei”, 20th place), Tokio Hotel (“Your Christmas”, new at 52) and Sarah Connor (“The Best Side Of Life” at 53rd place) ensure the Christmas spirit.

Wincent Weiss made it to the top of the album charts with “Wincent’s White Christmas”. Music legend Peter Gabriel comes in second with “I/O”. Third place goes to Frei.Wild frontman Philipp Burger with his second solo work “Grenzland”. The Rolling Stones (“Hackney Diamonds”) fall from the two to the four. New to the Five is Marius Müller-Westernhagen “Westernhagen 75 (18 Songs: 1974 – 2023)”, who turned 75 this week – on December 6th.
