Office draws positive interim balance in the census – Bavaria

Four months after the start of the 2022 census, almost one million households and a good three million homeowners were surveyed in Bavaria. As the Bavarian State Office for Statistics announced on Thursday in Fürth, this corresponds to a response rate of almost 90 percent. A repeat survey is currently taking place until late autumn, in which a small number of households are questioned again to ensure quality. According to the announcement, an important factor for the success of the census is that many citizens supported the survey and were happy to comply with their obligation to provide information. By surveying households at the front door with tablets and an online survey of homeowners, resources could also be saved. The first results of the inventory of the population, living space and other characteristics are expected for the end of 2023.
