The Austrian private broadcaster ServusTV is discontinuing its German television programme. The broadcaster confirmed on Wednesday the German Press Agency: The linear broadcasting – i.e. the continuous TV program – of ServusTV Germany will be discontinued at the end of the year. The media services “Meedia” and “dwdl.de” had previously reported on it.
The broadcaster, which is part of the Red Bull portfolio, also said: In the future, the focus will be more on the home market, where the program of Austria’s largest private broadcaster will continue to be broadcast linearly and digitally. And: “From 2024, ServusTV will focus in Germany on digital distribution via the video platform “ServusTV On”https://www.sueddeutsche.de/medien/.”
The withdrawal of the linear ServusTV in Germany also affects Axel Springer’s world group, which co-produced this program. A world spokeswoman said that the ServusTV Germany project was a pleasure to accompany and that I regret the strategic decision.
