Oberschleißheim increases water and sewer fees drastically – district of Munich

In the New Year, higher bills from the town hall will flutter into the mailboxes of the people of Oberschleißheim. The background is a significant increase in the fees for water, sewage and waste disposal decided by the municipal council. The calculation of drinking water charges was particularly drastic. They were increased from 1.18 to 1.73 euros per cubic meter – that is an increase of 47 percent. Apparently, incorrect calculations had been made here in the past, at least there were “indications” of the regional audit, according to the municipal treasury.

In order to cover the deficits that have been run in over the past few years, the price would have had to be raised to 2.21 euros and thus by 87 percent. The Treasury proposed to mitigate this descent and implement it in stages, in 2023 with a fee of 1.53 euros. The municipal council, however, unanimously saw it differently against the vote of Hans Hirschfeld (FW) and increased at least the rate of 1.73 euros that would cover costs for 2023. Waste water charges will increase by 15 percent. This fee was last increased in 2015, at that time from 1.60 to 2.10 euros per cubic meter. Now this fee increases further to 2.43 euros.

Waste fees were increased by 12 percent. However, the annually recalculated fees were only reduced this year. The 120-liter bin, which was reduced from 156 to 144 euros this year, will cost 160 euros next year. The fee for the 80-liter bin increases from 124 to 140 euros. This was justified by the municipal treasury with increasing disposal costs.
