Oberschleißheim: Bridge is open to traffic again – district of Munich

After exactly 21 months and thus eight months earlier than planned, the time had come on Wednesday: the railway overpass in Oberschleißheim on Mittenheimer Straße was reopened to traffic after successful renovation. “I am very happy to be able to give you this Christmas present before Christmas – and I thank you all for the patience you have shown over the past year and a half,” said Mayor Markus Böck (CSU) at the small celebration on the eve of the bridge opening . Böck welcomed around 200 visitors to the drink on the bridge, who enjoyed mulled wine and sausages. Of course, the church blessing that Pastor Ulrich Kampe and Pastor Martina Buck gave to the newly renovated bridge could not be missing. The bridge on Mittenheimer Straße has been completely closed to traffic since April 2021 – with the exception of rescue vehicles – in order to be able to carry out the necessary concrete renovation on the 51-year-old bridge in as little as possible. The cost of the fundamental concrete renovation of the bridge was 3.5 million euros. With the restoration of the bridge, the two districts are again continuously connected for traffic.
