Oberschleißheim – 50 years Olympic regatta facility – district of Munich

In September 1972, the sports world also looked to Oberschleißheim. 50 years ago, rowers and canoeists fought for Olympic medals on the regatta course in the Badersfeld district. Local chronicler Otto Bürger took the anniversary as an opportunity to record the Olympic competitions and the events surrounding the regatta facility over the past half century in a book. In a free guided tour this Saturday, July 30, on the regatta course (meeting point at the finish tower), the author brings the history of the now listed sports facility to life from 2 p.m. He will also answer questions about the European Championships, which will take place in Oberschleißheim from August 11th to 21st.
