Lucky in misfortune was a driver on Monday afternoon who caused an accident near Obereichhofen in the municipality of Aßling. The 56-year-old was on his way to Alxing. At the end of Obereichhofen, the man said he fell into a microsleep and left the road to the right, where his car overturned. The vehicle then slid across the road and came to rest on its roof on the left-hand side of the road. Fortunately, the driver was uninjured and was able to get out of the vehicle himself. The accident car was a total loss, the police estimate the amount of damage at around 5000 euros. The road had to be completely closed for a short time due to the rescue work.
