Nuremberg: Security man charged with raping refugee women – Bavaria

A former security employee at a refugee accommodation in Nuremberg is said to have raped two refugee women multiple times. The public prosecutor’s office charged the 54-year-old with rape in at least 77 cases between 2018 and 2022, an authority spokeswoman announced on Tuesday. The man is also said to have sexually harassed a third resident.

The asylum seekers’ accommodation on the edge of the Nuremberg Zoo only accommodates women. The Nürnberger Nachrichten/Nürnberger Zeitung had initially reported about it.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, the defendant has been in custody since January. The prosecution said he denied the allegations. The regional court in Nuremberg must now decide whether there will be a trial.

The public prosecutor’s office is also investigating a second former security employee at the accommodation for sexual harassment of a fourth woman, said Klotz Bücher. However, he is not in custody.
