Nuremberg police find human skull – Bavaria

The police in Nuremberg have deployed numerous forces to search the site where a human skull was found in the south of the city. The investigators hope to find further body parts and possible clues to the case, a spokeswoman for the Central Franconia Police Headquarters said on Friday. An initial search with a cadaver dog on Thursday was unsuccessful.

According to reports, a witness had already informed the police about the discovery of the human skull last Sunday. It is currently unclear how old the skull is exactly and whether it is a man or a woman. An examination of the skull is still ongoing.

According to the spokeswoman, investigators are currently assuming that the skull had not been there for several years. However, the background is still completely unclear. Connections to missing persons cases are also being investigated. The site of discovery is therefore near the A73 motorway in the Steinbrüchlein area.
