A motorcyclist and his passenger broke through a fence in Nuremberg and sustained serious injuries. One of the two was in mortal danger after the accident early Sunday morning, the police said on Monday. According to the police, the men, aged 33 and 34, were traveling at excessive speed on an unregistered motorcycle.
In a left turn, the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the lane to the right. The two then broke through a massive metal fence despite emergency braking, a spokesman said. The 34-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and the 33-year-old was seriously injured.
According to the information, none of the men wore a helmet. According to the police, there were indications that the men were drunk. Prosecutors ordered a blood test. According to the spokesman, it was initially unclear which of the two was the driver at the time of the accident.
