Nuremberg Central Station: Bottle collector gets stuck in donation box – Bavaria

A man got stuck in Nuremberg while trying to steal deposit bottles from a donation box. Because the 40-year-old’s arm was so caught in the box’s throw-in window that even security forces couldn’t loosen it, the professional fire department had to be called. As the federal police announced on Thursday, the fire department opened the donation box and was able to free the deposit collector.

The man collected deposit bottles at the main train station on Wednesday. He also wanted to get to the bottles that travelers had thrown into the donation box. Railway security forces found the man in his predicament and informed the federal police.

The 40-year-old, of no fixed abode, was taken to hospital with bruises on his arm. The police are investigating the man for theft. The donation box was destroyed during the rescue operation. The extent of the damage is still being examined.
